ABOUT MISS VANESSA

I was initially self taught by ear at four years old. I began taking formal piano lessons at fifteen years old, and began my piano teacher career at nineteen years old. My desire is as a piano instructor is to help my students understand basic musical concepts, the greatest of these concepts being the ability to measure and identify rhythm and keep time. I do my best provide students with the opportunity to play music that peaks their interests as soon as they are able. Of course, most importantly, I encourage my students to have fun and try to connect their musical journey to various other aspects of life, including but not limited to art, dance, theater, mathematics, the sciences, etc.
